Trans - Siberian Orchestra

Trans-Siberian Orchestra (often abbreviated as TSO) is a rock orchestra founded by Paul O'Neill, Robert Kinkel, and Jon Oliva in 1996. The band's musical style is often described in different terms, incorporating progressive rock, symphonic metal, and heavy metal, with influences from classical music. Trans-Siberian Orchestra is well known for its renditions of traditional Christmas songs.

Feral Children

Produced by Scott Colburn, the mastermind who recorded Animal Collective's "Strawberry Jam" and "Feels, Feral Children has a moody vocal and an atmospheric sound. Though not easy to get used to, Children promises something and deserves a luck.
One thing I liked about the band is their bass guitar usage that easily notices itself. You won't listen the same song twice - no repetitions, full of dynamic feeling. Plus, non-mainstream they are, so unique if you listen you'll get what I mean. :)

Liked 'em, so I recommend this band to you as Sarathan Records did to me.

Carlos Libedinsky

Carlos Libedinsky is an Argentine musician, composer and producer. He is most renowned for his neo-tango project, Narcotango.

Before tango, Libedinsky transited through different genres, such as rock, pop, blues, medieval and renaissance music. In 1992, he founded the duet Los Mareados, where he was also a composer.

Since 1986, he is the director of Tademus, a music school in Buenos Aires. As Narcotango, he made European tours in 2003, 2005 and 2007.

Bajonfondo Tango Club

Bajofondo is a South American music band consisting of eight musicians from Argentina and Uruguay. The band, which refers to itself as a "collective of composers, singers and artists", was formerly called "Bajofondo Tango Club", but shortened the name to "Bajofondo" after they felt their style had broadened, as was announced on their live concert in Berlin in April 2008.

Often compared to Gotan Project, their earlier music had blended acoustic tango and electronic music, part of an evolving tango genre which is known as "Electrotango" or "Tango Fusion", which brought tango back into the mainstream. Besides the aforementioned mixture of tango and electronica, the band is innovative form of DNB, house music, chill out and trip-hop. Their first record, Bajofondo Tango Club, was launched in 2002 with great success, with a second lone project from pianist/DJ/composer Luciano Supervielle greeted warmly by reviewers in late 2005. More recent music from their third album, Mar Dulce, is a fusion of Latin Alternative with contemporary music forms along the Río de la Plata at the border of Argentina and Uruguay.

Asian Dub Foundation is a British alternative electronica band, that play a mix of breakbeat, dub, dancehall and ragga, also using rock instruments, acknowledging a punk influence.

The band formed in 1993 as an outgrowth of the documentary Identical Beat, a film shot at London's Farringdon Community Music House, the site of a series of summer workshops designed to teach Asian children the essentials of music technology. In charge of the workshops were tutor Aniruddha Das and youth worker John Pandit, also a noted DJ; with one of their students, a 14-year-old Bengali rapper named Deeder Zaman, they soon formed a sound system which they called the Asian Dub Foundation.

After each adopted an alias — bassist/tabla player Das became Dr. Das, Pandit became Pandit G, and Zaman became Master D — they gradually evolved into a working band with the 1994 addition of former Higher Intelligence Agency and Atom Spies guitarist Steve Chandra Savale, an innovative performer known for tuning his strings to one note (like a sitar), turning up the distortion unit and playing his instrument with a knife, earning him the nickname "Chandrasonic."

Emerging in the midst of considerable anti-Asian violence throughout Britain, the Foundation's early demos landed them a contract with Nation Records, and they recorded their debut EP Conscious in 1994.

Idlewild are a Scottish rock band formed in December 1995, by Roddy Woomble (vocals), Rod Jones (guitar), Phil Scanlon (bass), and Colin Newton (drums).

Initially their sound obeyed the conventions of 1990s British indie-punk guitar music, but unlike many of their contemporaries, it developed over time, from an edgy and angular sound approaching post-hardcore, as heard in their early material (once described by the NME as "the sound of a flight of stairs falling down a flight of stairs"), to a different, sweeping, melodic rock sound as displayed on their third album The Remote Part. Idlewild's sound cannot be easily placed into a specific genre, though they have clearly been influenced by bands like Blur, Nirvana, Gang Of Four, R.E.M., The Smiths and Fugazi.

Hope Is Important released 1998 (see 1998 in music) is the first full-length album by Scottish band Idlewild, following on from their earlier six-track release Captain.

From it, the singles "A Film for the Future" (charting at No.53), "Everyone Says You're So Fragile" (47), "I'm a Message" (41) and "When I Argue I See Shapes" (19) were all released, their success encouraging album sales and helping to establish Idlewild as a key part of the post-Britpop British indie scene.

Queen are an English rock band formed in 1970 in London by guitarist Brian May, lead vocalist Freddie Mercury, and drummer Roger Taylor, with bassist John Deacon joining the following year. Biffy Clyro (often known colloquially as Biffy) are a Scottish rock group from Ayrshire whose members are Simon Neil (lead vocals, guitar), James Johnston (vocals, bass guitar) and Ben Johnston (vocals, drums). Although the band have always had a dedicated following and have been around since the mid-1990s as well as producing an EP and four albums, it is only in 2007 with their fourth album, Puzzle that they have found real commercial success. This album is seen as less heavy and experimental, and more widely accessible and has won wide critical acclaim. Puzzle has been championed on TV and radio, and Biffy have promoted it with a tour and many festival performances over the summer of 2007 (including a snippet of a live performance being used as the opening titles for the BBC coverage of T in the Park).

Biffy's sound is a heavy but melodic mixture of guitar, bass and drums, with all three band members contributing to vocals. They are known for complex and interwoven guitar picks, strums and melodies, that change many times within each track. "'Mon the Biffy!" is a well known chant among Biffy fans; usually shouted in between songs at gigs, or before the band comes on stage.

The Automatic (known as The Automatic Automatic in the U.S. and Canada are a Welsh post punk rock band. Formed in Cowbridge, Vale of Glamorgan but now based in Cardiff, the band are influenced heavily by acts such as Jarcrew, Muse, Blur and The Blood Brothers. The band released there debut album on June 19th through B-Unique Records and Polydor Records, the album featured the prior to LP release single Recover, Raoul and Monster.

The band are currently working on their second album with new member Paul Mullen, after keyboardist Alex Pennie left in September 2007.

The band are often descried as Electro-Disco-Punk Rock, with synthesizers and keyboards backing up a firm punk rock sound. With influences such as Jarcrew, Muse, Blur and The Blood Brothers and a joint love for bands such as Radiohead and Ash.
