Sentenced

Sentenced's fifth full-length album Frozen (1998) was also recorded at the Woodhouse Studios and it continued pretty much on the same path as Down, adding depth wherever necessary. Laihiala and Kukkohovi had gotten properly initiated into the band, so they participated a lot in the composition process, resulting in Frozen being very much a group effort; a band album. In 1999 a special edition of Frozen was released, containing a recolored (gold) cover and rearranged track running order, with four cover songs included. Some fans scorned, stating that they now had to buy the album again, because of this new release coming well after the "regular" one, and without prior warning.

The next Sentenced album to be released was Crimson in 2000. As the single "Killing Me, Killing You" showcased, the band's sound had once again taken a turn for the lighter direction. And two years from that, the release of The Cold White Light saw the band in a slightly different light, the lyrics displaying some self-irony and even an extremely rare positive edge, in a "there is light at the end of the tunnel after all" sort of way.

After The Cold White Light also lies a CD-single. Released in 2003 along with songs by other bands on a four track compilation single that's dedicated to Oulun Kärpät, the ice hockey team of the band's hometown, Routasydän remains the only song Sentenced sung in Finnish, and cannot be found elsewhere. The song caused something of a stir in Finland, as several politicians reviewed the lyrics and purported them to contain Nazi overtones, which the band has steadfastly refuted.

In early 2005, the band announced that their following release The Funeral Album would be their last. It was also stated that there would be no reunions. They performed few farewell gigs during the spring and summer (as per their wishes) and ended with a funeral gig in October 2005 in their hometown Oulu, Finland. A DVD concentrating on their last show was also part of the plan; this has come the dissolution of Sentenced's 16 year career.

The Sentenced concert film Buried Alive, directed by Mika Ronkainen, filmed at the funeral gig in their hometown Oulu October 1st 2005, was premiered at Oulu Music Video Festival September 9th, 2006.

Ville is the lead guitarist and vocalist of the Finnish metal band, Poisonblack. The band has released two albums.

T.M. Stevens

T.M.Stevens is an American bass guitarist born in the 1950s. He lives in New York City.
His skill and proficiency as a bassist, vocalist & sideman is legendary. His ferocious, yet melodic, style of bass is as unique as his larger than life persona. In demand as a session player, he is as at ease in the studio, (where he can call upon his many years of experience and formal musical training) as he is behind a mike on stage, releasing his special brand of rock, funk and manic soul. Whether accompanying one of the many world class performers in his resume or fronting his own progressive metal, funk / rock alter ego 'Out of Control'; his is a musical force to be dealt with. He has also recently starred in his first full length motion picture 'Limousine Drive' directed by Masashi Yamamoto for Layline Productions, scheduled for release Februar 2001.

Wired All Wrong

Wired All Wrong is a band made up of Matt Mahaffey of Self and Jeff Turzo formerly of God Lives Underwater. The two have been longtime friends since a mix-up of their bands on MTV. Partly due to the unfortunate deaths of David Reilly from GLU and Mike Mahaffey from Self, Matt and Jeff were able to shift their attention away from their other bands. Their first album, Break Out The Battle Tapes, came out on September 12, 2006.

Wired All Wrong released their first LP in September 12, 2006 and features the singles "Lost Angeles," "Nothing at All" and "Elevatin." The song "You're Freakin' Me out Girl" features rapper Count Bass D.
The band went on tour in the fall of 2006 to promote the album. A notable performance was at LA Weekly's Detour Festival.
The band had a contest for their fans to make the music video for "Nothing at All." The band also has a professionally directed music video for "Elevatin" that had rotation on MTV2.

Wired All Wrong has been described as functioning similar to God Lives Underwater, Turzo's former band, in the sense that the two founding members, Turzo and Mahaffey, write, record and produce all the music then perform it live alongside a full band. Their on-stage presence is that of an over-the-top, garage-band-esque, heavy metal sound accented by Mahaffey's light-hearted stage antics.

Wired All Wrong performed and recorded a remix of their hit song "Lost Angeles" live at radio station Indie 103. An mp3 of what has been dubbed the "Super Funky Fresh Mix" of the song is available on the band's MySpace.com page in a blog from September 25, 2006.

Dire Straits

Dire Straits was a British rock band, formed in 1977 by Mark Knopfler (guitar and vocals), his brother David Knopfler (guitar), John Illsley (bass), and Pick Withers (drums), and subsequently managed by Ed Bicknell. Although the band was formed in an era when punk rock reigned, Dire Straits worked within the conventions of classic rock, albeit with a stripped-down sound that appealed to modern audiences weary of the overproduced stadium rock of the 1970s. In their early days, Mark and David requested that pub owners turn down the amps so that patrons could converse while the band played — indicative of their unassuming demeanor. Despite this oddly self-effacing approach to rock and roll, Dire Straits soon became hugely successful with their first album going multi-platinum globally.

The band's best-known songs include "Sultans of Swing," "Romeo and Juliet," "Private Investigations," "Money for Nothing," "Walk of Life" and "Brothers in Arms."

Dire Straits and Mark Knopfler have sold in excess of 118 million albums to date.
